Terry Neal Kirk, age 81, of Parsons, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2026 after a short, but valiant, battle with cancer.
Terry was born to the late Dewey and Vera (Way) Kirk on Aug. 19, 1944, in Sherwin.
He graduated from Parsons High School in 1964, and from Neosho County Community College in Chanute, in 1972.
He served our country as a member of the United States Navy from 1963-1967. He was employed by the Parsons Police Department, from 1970-1973, and then worked for B.F. Goodrich in Miami, Oklahoma. In 1980, he began working for Parsons school district, USD 503, where he worked until retirement as the head of maintenance.
Terry had been a member of Sherwin Christian Church, Sherwin, Kansas; though most recently attended Calvary Baptist Church in Columbus, Kansas. He had been a member of Ducks Unlimited.
Terry’s family recalls that he was always active up until his recent illness; and most of his activity revolved around taking care of, and helping his family and friends. Sometimes they would be surprised to come home and find that their yard had been mowed, shutters were removed and repainted, or they might find him on their roof cleaning out their gutters.
Terry always had a project going, and as soon as he finished one project, he would immediately move on to something else, which usually involved helping someone else. He was always busy and always on the move. Terry believed that staying busy
