Labette Community College’s Auction for Scholarships remains one of the Labette Community College Foundation and Alumni Association’s most impactful and anticipated annual events and new supporters are invited to be part of the tradition.

The 27th Annual Auction for Scholarships, sponsored by McCarty Office Machines, will be held Friday, April 17, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Parsons VFW. An online auction option will also be available for those unable to attend in person, allowing supporters near and far to participate in this important fundraiser.

Each year, the Auction brings together local businesses, alumni, donors, and community members for an evening of generosity and celebration focused on helping LCC students overcome financial barriers and continue their education. What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a signature community event that directly impacts student success.

Since its inception, the Auction for Scholarships has raised more than $1 million to support LCC students. These funds help students remain enrolled, complete their programs, and pursue meaningful careers, which strengthens individual lives and the whole community. “The Auction for Scholarships is truly a community effort,” said Lindi Forbes, Executive Director of the LCC Foundation and Alumni Association. “Every donated item, sponsorship, advertisement, and bid represents someone choosing to invest in our students’ futures. The impact goes far beyond one evening. It carries forward into classrooms, careers, and families.”

There are many ways to get involved, including: — Donating an auction item or professional service.

— Serving as an event sponsor. — Advertising in the professionally printed auction catalog.

— Attending the live event. — Bidding online. Participation at any level makes a meaningful difference. The Foundation encourages businesses, organizations, and individuals to consider joining this year’s effort. New donors and attendees are always welcome, and the collective support of the community ensures the continued growth and success of this longstanding tradition.
