
SAN GABRIEL, Calif. — Larry D. Walker, 80, of San Gabriel, California, passed away at 5:25 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, at the Monrovia Memorial Hospital in Monrovia, California.
He was born on July 27, 1945, in Alhambra, California to Chase and Margaret (Armstrong) Walker. Larry grew up at Alhambra and attended schools there, graduating from Alhambra High School in 1963. He went on to attend California State University in Los Angeles and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Larry served in the United States Army from April 1968 to December 1969 during the Vietnam War. He was awarded a bronze star. He returned to Los Angeles to the family business following his military service.
Larry worked at the family business, the Los Angeles Honey Company, and assumed the role of owner and president after his father passed away. He served in this capacity until his death.
Larry met the love of his life, LaVon Chickadonz, a native of Dennis, Kansas, while attending the Alhambra First United Methodist Church. They were united in marriage on July 13, 1974, at the Dennis United Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2024.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Judy Thompson, and her husband, Roy of rural Parsons; his sister, Donna Bertolini of Bayfield, Colorado; his brother, Karl Walker of Arcadia, California; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Pastor Pat McReynolds officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.wallfuneralservices. com.
