Below are the upcoming events at the Parsons Public Library.
Tuesday, Feb. 17: 10 a.m., Sensory Hour for ages birth-3; 4 p.m., Anime Club for teens.
Wednesday, Feb. 18: 10 a.m., Story Hour for ages 2-6; 1 p.m.: Digital Resource Class: VR Headset: Travel the World from your chair in PK at Parsons Senior Center; 4 p.m., Afternoon Story Hour for ages 2-6.
Thursday, Feb. 19: 4 p.m., Switch Freeplay for teens. Friday, Feb. 20: 4 p.m., Let’s Cook! for teens; 6 p.m., Adult Bingo for ages 18+.
Regular Library Hours are Monday-Friday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; and closed on Sunday.
Prairie Dog Alliance
Prairie Dog Alliance will be hosting another public meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Parsons Public Library to discuss the federal and state laws already in place concerning the project at Great Plains Industrial Park; the specific Executive Order that is driving the Deep Fission project; and the roles of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Department of Energy in the project.
Founder Marjorie Reynolds will meet with the public at the Parsons Public Library during open hours this Tuesday.
Parsons Livestock Auction
Here is the latest Parsons Livestock Auction report: 1400 cattle were sold Wednesday, Feb. 4. Choice cows 164-179, canners-cutters 154-163, shelly cows 153 and down, bred cows up to $3,500, pairs up to $4,600, choice bulls 200-219, lower grades 199 and down.
Steers: Up to 400 pounds, 480-665; 400-500, 500-585; 500600, 420-552; 600-700, 380-469; 700-800, 349-395; 800 and over, 290-350.
Heifers: Up to 400 pounds, 450-605; 400-500, 425-540; 500600, 380-475; 600-700, 315-409; 700-800, 330-358; 800 and over, 270-315.
