VINITA, Okla. — Robert E. VanDyne, 91 years old, Vinita, Oklahoma, resident passed away Dec. 3, 2025.
He was born July 29, 1934 in Parsons, Kansas, to Alfred and Hazel (Poston) VanDyne. Robert spent most of his career in the U.S. Air Force and later finished in the Army Reserve. He retired from TriMet in Portland, Oregon, as a Transport Supervisor. He was a member of the Dale Peace Post 40 in Parsons and served as a Commander at his post in Oregon.
Robert was preceded in death by a son, Mitchell Lee Van-Dyne; and his brothers, Lewis and Richard VanDyne.
Survivors include: one sister, Ina (VanDyne) Kloehr of Texas; his children, Robert E. (VanDyne) Jr. Kelley, Michigan; James E. (VanDyne) Kelley, Michigan; William E. (VanDyne) Kelley, California; Vesta Ann (VanDyne) Kelley, Lopez, Colorado; Denise (VanDyne) Jones and Stephen VanDyne, Oregon; Tammy (VanDyne) Garner of Oklahoma; his nieces Judy Kay VanDyne and Penny Britton both of Oklahoma; as well as Nora and Christy VanDyne of Oregon; and his nephews: Donald VanDyne and Jerry Kloehr of Texas; and Anthony Kloehr of Utah.
