The Labette County Future Farmers of America Chapter Job Interview Team traveled to Eureka, Kansas, recently to compete in the Southeast District Job Interview Contest. Each student was responsible for submitting an online job application, cover letter, resume, and references to the contest coordinator ahead of the competition date. These documents were all graded according to rubrics established by the FFA Organization. Next, students competed in two rounds of face-to-face interviews and completed follow-up letters on-site at the conclusion of their individual interviews. This is a highly competitive event that draws top competitors from 26 schools across the Southeast District of the Kansas FFA.
Results are as follows. B-Team Individuals Placing in the Top Ten: Brea Robison, eighth place; Marlee Madl, sixth place; and Jonathan Dusher, second place. The Labette County FFA B-Team placed third overall A-Team Individuals Placing in the Top Ten: Taylor Gudde, eighth place; Pyper White, fifth place; and Lucy Pearson, third place. The Labette County FFA A-Team placed third overall Additionally, Lucy Pearson qualified to represent the Southeast District at the State FFA Job Interview Contest, which will be held in conjunction with the Kansas FFA State Convention in May.
