It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Burrow, who departed this life on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at Presbyterian Manor in Parsons, Kansas, at the age of 95. Dorothy was born on Nov. 13, 1930, in Sycamore, Illinois. In January 1949, she married her husband, Don Burrow. He passed in January 2024, 10 days short of their 75th wedding anniversary.
A cherished wife, loving mother, devoted grandmother, and proud great-grandmother, Dorothy was best known for her role as the heart of her home.
She found great joy in traveling with her husband, Don. Together, they explored multiple destinations around the world, but she especially treasured their adventures across the United States by motor home. One of her favorite traditions was spending winters in Bradenton, Florida, surrounded by sunshine and the companionship of their dear friends, creating memories she held close throughout her life.
She is survived by her four daughters: Beverly Shumaker (Steve), Carolyn Phillips, June Holsteen (Ron), and Teresa Kovalcson and daughter-in-law Jo Ann Burrow.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Burrow, and her son, David Burrow.
Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, along with extended family and friends who will forever hold her memory close.
The family held a private memorial service to celebrate Dorothy’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church of Parsons, in honor of Dorothy Burrow. Memorials may be left at or mailed to: First Baptist Church of Parsons, 1621 Main Street, Parsons, KS 67357.
Dorothy’s memory will forever be cherished, and her love will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
