Below are the upcoming events at the Parsons Public Library.

Friday, Feb. 6: 4 p.m., Let’s Cook! for teens.

Monday, Feb. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., AARP Tax Preparation Assistance; 4 p.m., Story Hour for ages 7-10.; 5 p.m., Line Dancing for all ages; and 6 p.m., Family Bingo for all ages.

Tuesday, Feb: 10; 10 a.m. Sensory Hour for ages birth-3; 4 p.m., Anti-Valentine Cookie Decorating for Teens; and 6 p.m., Library Board of Directors Meeting.

Wednesday, Feb. 11: 10 a.m., Story Hour for ages 2-6; 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.: LIEAP Sign-up Assistance; 1 p.m., Digital Resource Class: Basic Phone Use 101 at Parsons Senior Center; 4 p.m., Afternoon Story Hour for ages 2-6; and 6 p.m.: Family craft for all ages.

Thursday, Feb. 12: 4 p.m., Switch Freeplay for teens. Friday, Feb. 13: 4 p.m., Let’s Cook! for teens. Regular Library Hours are Monday-Friday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; and closed on Sunday.

Red Cross Blood Drive

The Shared Faith Community at 1500 S. 29th in Parsons will host a Red Cross Blood on Feb. 6, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Parsons Philanthropic Ediucation Organization, Chapter JE is sponsoring the drive, and will provide refreshments for donors. Previous drives they have sponsored have yielded an average of 78 pints of donated blood per drive. The red Cross is also offering a $20 e-gift card to donors. To sign up, visit redcrossblood.org.

Prairie Dog Alliance

The Prairie Dog Alliance will be hosting an educational meeting for citizens to discuss concerns and ask questions about the Deep Fission project on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Wall Family Center, located at 2605 Main St., in Parsons. Founder Marjorie Reynolds will meet with individuals at the Parsons Public Library from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

East Central Kansas Model T Club

The East Central Kansas Model T Club will meet Thursday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Burlington Public Library. The club meets the second Thursday of the month at the Burlington Library located on Highway 75 in Burlington. The main entree this month will be pizza. Please bring a side dish to share with the meal to be eaten before the meeting.

At the meeting, members and guests will share information about working on and restoration of their cars. This month the members that attended the Winter Clinic at McPherson College Jan. 16-17 will share the information they obtained at the various seminars that they attended. In addition the group will discuss coming events and possible road trips of interest to the members.
