Below are the upcoming events at the Parsons Public Library.
Tuesday, Feb. 3: Sensory Hour for ages birth to three at 10 a.m.; Veteran’s Benefit Assistance from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m; A Family Play Space Celebration will begin at 11 a.m; Anime Club for Teens begins at 4 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 4: Story Hour for ages 2-6 at 4 p.m.; Afternoon Story Hour for ages 2-6 at 4 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 5: Switch Freeplay for teens at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6: 4 p.m., Let’s Cook! for teens. Regular Library Hours are Monday-Friday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; and closed on Sunday.
Red Cross Blood Drive
The Shared Faith Community at 1500 S. 29th in Parsons will host a Red Cross Blood Drive on Feb. 5, from noon to 6 p.m. and on Feb. 6, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Parsons Philanthropic Ediucation Organization, Chapter JE is sponsoring the drive, and will provide refreshments for donors. Previous drives they have sponsored have yielded an average of 78 pints of donated blood per drive. The red Cross is also offering a $20 e-gift card to donors. To sign up, visit redcrossblood.org.
Prairie Dog Alliance
The Prairie Dog Alliance will be hosting an educational meeting for citizens to discuss concerns and ask questions about the Deep Fission project on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Wall Family Center, located at 2605 Main St., in Parsons.
