At the Library
Below are the upcoming events at the Parsons Public Library.
Tuesday, Jan. 20: 10 a.m., Sensory Hour for ages birth-3 and 4 p.m., Anime Club for ages 10-18.
Wednesday, Jan. 21: 10 a.m., Story Hour for ages 2-6; 4 p.m. and Afternoon Story Hour for ages 2-6.
Thursday, Jan. 22: 1 p.m., Let’s Color! For adults and teens and 4 p.m., Switch Freeplay for teens.
Friday, Jan. 23: 4 p.m., Let’s Cook! for teens. Regular Library Hours are Monday-Friday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; and closed on Sunday.
Great Plains Development Authority The Great Plains Development Authority Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, Jan. 22, at 8 a.m., in the Parsons Municipal Building, City Commission Room, 112 South 17th Street, Parsons, to conduct monthly business of the board.
PACF accepting grant applications The Parsons Area Community Foundation is now accepting grant applications from eligible organizations, with applications open through Jan. 31.
The annual competitive grant program is designed to support organizations that are making a meaningful impact in Parsons and the 25-mile surrounding area. Schools, churches, government entities, and IRS recognized 501(c) (3) nonprofits may apply.
“We are proud to invest in the work of nonprofits that strengthen our community,” said Becky Dantic, PACF Executive Director. “These grants help organizations continue and expand programs that address local needs and create lasting change.”
Eligible nonprofit organizations are encouraged to review application guidelines and submit proposals by the Jan. 31 deadline. Grant awards will be announced in April.
