
ST. PAUL — Judith Ann Diskin (Rohlfs), 80, of St. Paul, KS, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025, at 12 p.m., in her home surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Judy was born on Nov. 9, 1945, in Pontiac, Illinois, to Donald and Dorothy (Ramsey) Rohlfs. She was raised on a farm in Central Illinois alongside her sister and two brothers. A modest upbringing that shaped her lifelong devotion to family, faith and service to her community.
She graduated from Dwight High School in Dwight, Illinois in 1963 where she enjoyed participating in various sports and playing the clarinet in the marching band. After graduation, she worked for the Public Aid Office in Pontiac, Illinois.
On Aug. 6, 1966, she married Charles M. Diskin at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dwight, Illinois. They resided in Pontiac until March 1970, when they moved to and established their farm outside of St. Paul, Kansas, and raised their six children.
Judy was devoted to her family and provided a strong foundation of love, faith and support that would carry them forward through the years. She enjoyed farm life, being outdoors, raising a garden, cooking, sewing, and attending all of the activities six children could generate.
Christmas was her favorite time of year and she made it a magical time for the family, especially as everyone gathered together on Christmas Eve.
Judy was an active member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, giving her time to the Altar Society and was an RCIA teacher for several years. She also provided childcare for many families in the community. Once her children were settled in school, she worked at Greenbush S.E.K. Education Center for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her infant son and her parents, Donald and Dorothy Rohlfs.
She is survived by her husband, Charles M. Diskin; her children, Jennie Pappas and husband John of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Charlene Newton and husband Paul of Mounds, Oklahoma; Mary Ann Giefer and husband Tom of Olathe; Bonnie Crossland and husband Patrick of Pittsburg; Amanda Dent and husband Chris of St. Paul; Dennis Diskin and wife Amanda of Shawnee. Fifteen grandchildren include Steven, Morgan, Paul, Easton, Nick, Anna, Kaitlin, Kinley, Jack, Dean, Brady, Ava, Elin, Thea and Luke, and two great grandchildren, Jensen and Beckett. One sister, Barbara (Rohlfs) Cahill of Aurora, Colordo, and two brothers, Ronald Rohlfs of Plainfield, Illinois and Edward Rohlfs of Mount Vernon, Illinois.
The rosary will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025. The family will receive friends immediately following until 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul.
Burial will follow at the St. Francis Cemetery and lunch provided at the Parish Hall. Friends may call at the funeral home in St. Paul from 10 a.m. Tuesday until 4 p.m.
