
Over 60 Health Science students at Labette County High School are now officially “Stop the Bleed” certified. Students recently learned how to control life-threatening bleeding with tourniquets, wound packing, and pressure dressings. Studnets were taught by Jake and Misti Bond.

Parsons Middle School orchestra students performed before a packed house during the Parsons High School and Parsons Middle School Orchestra’s Christmas Concert.

Labette County High School students learned about international New Year’s Eve traditions, such as eating twelve grapes when the clock strikes midnight in Spain from Mrs. Ana Plaza.

Austyn McGuire , Brina Maples and other Guthridge students decorated sugar cookies with colored icings and their choice of colorful sprinkles, in one of several holiday rotation stations teachers led. Students also had the chance to enjoy some other holiday fun, like making hot cocoa and watching a movie, making Christmas cards, coloring, playing games, listening to Christmas music, and more.

The Labette County High School Livestock Judging team recently competed at the Kansas Beef Expo Livestock Judging contest hosted by the Hutchinson Community College Livestock Judging Team. The Labette County FFA Chapter took 16 students. In the Cattle Evaluation Intermediate Division, the team placed first with Riggin Ross leading the way as the third overall individual. Closely behind him was Colten Hanigan in sixth and Sage Buntin in seventh. The team placed third overall in the Intermediate Division.
