ST. PAUL — Eating three losses in their early season tournament, the Oswego Indians girls’ stay at the Mark Terlip Classic ended Saturday with a 66-35 loss to the Caney Valley Bullpups.

“We played hard all week,” Oswego second-year head coach Zac Dickerson said. “It’s hard to get going with three games in three days with how young we are. But it’s about learning. Games like this will really help us down the road.”

On Thursday, the Riverton Rams beat Oswego, 59-22.

Ashton Schulz led Oswego with eight points while Kodi Trimble added seven.

Plaza Heights Christian Academy took down Oswego on Friday, 48-31.

Trimble led Oswego with nine points while Schulz and Ava Franklin chipped in eight apiece.

In Saturday’s loss, Trimble paced Oswego with a dozen points.

“She’s been in a shooting slump, but the shots finally started to fall a bit,” Dickerson said. “She’s quite the player. She’s figuring out how to be in a lead role. And she played defense very well tonight.”

Oswego is 0-4 to start the year, with two losses to CNC League schools.

“We’re in a better spot than we were a year ago,” Dickerson said. “Our weak schedule at the end of last year hurt us. Having a tough schedule early really helps us.”
