ont. St. Vincent de Paul Sack Sale
St. Vincent de Paul will hold their end of year, $5 sack sale from Thursday, Dec. 18 through Saturday. Dec. 20. The sale will be located at 1122 Main Street in Parsons. The hours are as follows: Thursday and Friday: 10 a.m. to noon; 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Saturday, the store will be open from 10 a.m. to noon.
Altamont Senior Citizens
The Altamont Senior Citizens will have Breakfast and Bingo at 9 a.m. on Dec. 19 at 414 Huston Ave., Altamont.
Community National Bank Toy Drive
Community National Bank and Trust is accepting toy donations for Labette County Toys for Tots through Dec. 23. Donations can be brought to the bank during business hours; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. For more information, visit www. labettecounty.toysfortots.org.
Community Christmas Dinner
The Parsons Ministerial Association and the Brown-Bishop Post 704 of the VFW are providing a free Christmas Day dinner at the VFW, 105 Main Street. Dinner will be served from 11 a.m. through 1 p.m. Dinners will also be delivered to Parsons area homes. If you wish to volunteer to help with serving, cleaning, or delivering, call Janet Basler at 405-229-3041. If you desire meals delivered, please call before noon on Monday, Dec. 22. Parsons Livestock Market
The Parsons Livestock Auction sold 2300 cattle Wednesday. Choice cows 160-172, canners-cutters 150-159, shelly cows 149 and down, bred cows up to $3,200, pairs up to $4,300, choice bulls 180-200, lower grades 179 and down.
Steers: Up to 400 pounds, 425-615; 400-500, 430-527; 500600, 385-459; 600-700, 345-421; 700-800, 320-354; 800 and over, 300-338.
Heifers: Up to 400 pounds, 400-500; 400-500, 390-447; 500600, 340-417; 600-700, 290-367; 700-800, 260-333; 800 and over, 270-320.
