An Independence man was injured in a vehicle accident in Parsons on Friday, Dec. 5, Kansas Highway Patrol investigated a crash on Southern Avenue at approximately 3:40 p.m., roughly .75 miles from US 59.
According to the KHP Crash Log, a FedEx box truck driven by Charles Cooper, 43, was traveling west on Southern when the vehicle left the roadway and struck the curb, which ejected the driver from the vehicle. According to the crash log, a seat belt was not worn.
Cooper was transported to Labette Health, where he remains in critical condition.
