Below are the upcoming events at the Parsons Public Library.

Tuesday, Dec. 9: 10 a.m., Sensory Story Hour for ages birth – 3; 4 p.m., Anime Club for ages 10-18; 6 p.m., Library Board of Directors Meeting.

Wednesday, Dec. 10: 10 a.m., Story Hour for ages 2-6; 4 p.m., Afternoon Story Hour for ages 2-6.

Thursday, Dec. 11: 11 a.m., Eat, Read & Be Merry Soup Lunch — This event is free, but a ticket is required; 1 p.m., Let’s Color! For adults and teens; 4 p.m., Switch Freeplay for teens.

Friday, Dec. 12: 4 p.m., Let’s Cook! for teens; 6 p.m., Karaoke Night.

Saturday, Dec. 13: 10 a.m., Cookies with Santa for ages birth-11 — This event is free, but a professional photographer will be available for $1 per person. You may take your own photos at no cost. First come, first serve. At 5 p.m.; Movies on Broadway presents Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas Special. Concession starts at 4 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, coats, stocking caps, etc. The Drive-in Theatre is located at 18th and Broadway, Parsons.

NARVRE

The National Association of Retired and Veteran Railroad Employees will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Chinese Chef; 900 N. 16th St., Parsons.

Saint Paul Blood Drive

The American Red Cross will host a blood drive, Wednesday, Dec. 10 from 1–6 p.m. at Saint Francis Hall, 47 Highway and First Street, Saint Paul.

Parsons Blood Drive

The Shared Faith Community Church is hosting a blood drive at 1500 S. 29th St. in Parsons. The drive will run from noon to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, and then from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12. Fundraiser for Berklie Habiger

A fundraiser for Berklie Habiger will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 5 p.m. to midnight, at Ballers Sports Bar and Grill in Parsons. A Steak Dinner will be served at 5 p.m., with an ugly sweater contest and karaoke to begin at 8. Funds raised will support Berklie receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in January 2026. For more information, call Brandy Habiger at 620-778-1124. Wreaths Across America

Oakwood Cemetery and Memorial Lawn Cemetery are continuing as Wreaths Across America sites for 2025. National Wreath Day will be Dec. 13, 2025. A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at noon that day to honor the veterans whose final resting place is Oakwood.

Christmas Concert

Labette Community College will present a Christmas Concert featuring the Parsons Community Band, Chorus, and Orchestra on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 3 p.m. in the Parsons High School Auditorium

St. Vincent de Paul Sack Sale

St. Vincent de Paul will hold their end of year, $5 sack sale from Thursday, Dec. 18- Saturday. Dec. 20. The sale will be located at 1122 Main Street in Parsons. The hours are as follows: Thursday and Friday: 10 a.m. to noon; 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Saturday, the store will be open from 10 a.m. to noon.

Altamont Senior Citizens

The Altamont Senior Citizens will have Breakfast and Bingo at 9 a.m. on Dec. 19 at 414 Huston Ave., Altamont.

Community National Bank Toy Drive

Community National Bank and Trust is accepting toy donations for Labette County Toys for Tots through Dec. 23. Donations can be brought to the bank during business hours; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. For more information, visit www. labettecounty.toysfortots.org.

Community Christmas Dinner

The Parsons Ministerial Association and the Brown-Bishop Post 704 of the VFW are providing a free Christmas Day dinner at the VFW, 105 Main Street. Dinner will be served from 11 a.m. through 1 p.m. Dinners will also be delivered to Parsons area homes. If you wish to volunteer to help with serving, cleaning, or delivering, call Janet Basler at 405-229-3041. If you desire meals delivered, please call before noon on Monday, Dec. 22.
