Barbara Gentry

Barbara Gentry, 90, passed away the afternoon of Nov. 15, 2025, following a brief illness. She was a woman with a vibrant spirit filled with love, laughter, loyalty, and grace.

She was born March 31, 1935, in Parsons to Maxine V. and Ted T. Baze. Barbara was the eldest of three children. She lived in Parsons, graduating from Parsons High School in 1953. She was then employed by the telephone company there.

Barbara and King Hyde were married Feb. 12, 1955, at the First Methodist Church in Parsons. They lived in Parsons, Dallas, and San Angelo, Texas. They later divorced.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Teddy T. Baze.

Survivors include a son, Jeff Hyde (Lynn), Corpus Christi, Texas; a daughter, Kim McReynolds (Greg), Canton, Texas.

Grandchildren Crystal (Johnny) Butler, Terrel (Chandra) McReynolds, and Ian (Espy) Hyde. Great grandchildren Kingston and Jude McReynolds.

She is also survived by a sister, Claudia Bulklley, Erie, and many nieces and nephews.

Prior to her death, Barbara requested her body be donated to Texas Tech Health Science Center in Lubbock, Texas, for further research.

Barbara’s family had a gathering highlighting the joyful, adventure- filled journey of her 90 years.
