At the Library

Below are the upcoming events at the Parsons Public Library.

Monday, Dec. 8: 4 p.m.,Story Hour for ages 7-10; 6 p.m., Family Bingo for all ages.

Tuesday, Dec. 9: 10 a.m., Sensory Story Hour for ages birth – 3; 4 p.m., Anime Club for ages 10-18; 6 p.m., Library Board of Directors Meeting.

Wednesday, Dec. 10: 10 a.m., Story Hour for ages 2-6; 4 p.m., Afternoon Story Hour for ages 2-6.

Thursday, Dec. 11: 11 a.m., Eat, Read & Be Merry Soup Lunch — This event is free, but a ticket is required; 1 p.m., Let’s Color! For adults and teens; 4 p.m., Switch Freeplay for teens.

Friday, Dec. 12: 4 p.m., Let’s Cook! for teens; 6 p.m., Karaoke Night.

Saturday, Dec. 13: 10 a.m., Cookies with Santa for ages birth-11 — This event is free, but a professional photographer will be available for $1 per person. You may take your own photos at no cost. First come, first serve. At 5 p.m.; Movies on Broadway presents Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas Special. Concession starts at 4 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, coats, stocking caps, etc. The Drive-in Theatre is located at 18th and Broadway, Parsons.

SKIL Resource Center annual meeting

SKIL is pleased to announce our inclusive and accessible holiday party and annual meeting, designed to bring joy and connection throughout the holiday season. This year’s theme, “Hands that serve, Hearts that care” is promoting SKIL’s commitment to inclusion and community. Our holiday party and annual meeting will be held Friday, Dec. 5 from 2-4 p.m. at the Parsons VFW, 105 Main St. Activities will include holiday bingo, gift baskets, raffles and our annual awards honoring individuals within our agency, as well as our community. Coat Drive

The Southeast Kansas Democratic Socialists of America will be holding a coat drive in Parsons on Friday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 6 from 5-7 p.m. at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers office, 1929 Crawford Ave., Unit 3, in Parsons.
