BNSF railroad crossings will be repaired this week in Crawford County

GIRARD – Railroad crossings on K-126 just east of K-7 and K-47 on the east side of Girard will be closed on consecutive days this week for repairs, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

The BNSF Railway is planning on closing its crossing on K-126 just east of K-7 early on Wednesday, Dec. 3, conditions permitting. The crossing will remain closed until early Thursday, Dec. 4. Signs will detour traffic to K-47.

Early on Thursday, Dec. 4, the BNSF will close the crossing on K-47 on the east side of Girard for repairs, conditions permitting. Signs will detour traffic to K-126. The work on the K-47 railroad crossing takes place on the same day as the Girard Christmas parade, which will close K-7 (South Summit) from Southern Boulevard north to K-47 from 4:30 to 9 p.m.
