Parsons Ministerial Association

Parsons Ministerial Association will be hosting a Community Thanksgiving Service at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23. at Westside Christian Church at 5100 Main St. Parsons, KS. Pastor Tom Phelan will be giving the sermon.

Help Community National can hunger in the community

Community National Bank and Trust in Parsons is hosting a food drive now through Nov. 15. All proceeds will go towards the Labette County Emergency Assistance Center and our branch will donate 25 cents per item donated. Any donation of canned goods, hygiene products, laundry detergent, breads, or other shelf stable food, will be accepted. Drop off location is at Community National Bank and Trust in Parsons; 330 N. 16th St. Parsons, KS.

Senior Fellowship Lunch

The Altamont Senior Citizens November Fellowship lunch will be held on the third Thursday of the month, Nov. 20, at noon. The menu will be turkey, ham, dressing, gravy, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, cranberry salad, and rolls. A variety of pies will be served for dessert, along with coffee, tea, and water. The Breakfast and Bingo will be held the following Friday, Nov. 21, at 9 a.m. There will be no Fellowship Meal in December, but the Breakfast and Bingo will be on Dec. 19.

Parsons Livestock Market

The Parsons Livestock Auction sold 701 cattle Wednesday. Choice cows 165-172, canners-cutters 157-164, shelly cows 156 and down, bred cows up to $3,350 pairs up to $5,400, choice bulls 180-199, lower grades 179 and down.

Steers: Up to 400 pounds, 350-495; 400-500, 325-450; 500600, 322-416; 600-700, 270-393; 700-800, 312-357; 800 and over, 263-325.

Heifers: Up to 400 pounds, 370-505; 400-500, 330-405; 500600, 313-378; 600-700, 260-342; 700-800, 270-315; 800 and over, 260-304.
