
JOPLIN, Mo. — Brian Walter Shaw, age 67, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Nov. 6, 2025, at Communities of Wildwood in Joplin. He was born on Jan. 1, 1958, in Parsons, Kansas.
Brian worked for many years as a forklift operator for Blue Buffalo, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic. He married Kim Johnson on April 15, 2017, in Vinita, Oklahoma. Together, they shared a close and caring partnership built on laughter, faith, and friendship.
Brian enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing, which brought him peace and joy. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, quiet strength, and the kindness he showed to those around him. He cared deeply for his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Stephenson and Rose Marie Shaw.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Shaw; daughters Lashonda Sattler, LaToya Jones, Lacresha Jones, and Nehemiah Shaw; his brother, Keith Shaw; his sisters, Stephanie Shaw, Phyllis Shaw and her partner Andre Thompson, Anita Shaw, Annetta Green, Angela Newton and husband Lawrence, and Pamela Shaw; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Mason-Woodard Chapel in Joplin. Burial will follow at Osbourne Cemetery.
Brian’s family and friends take comfort in knowing that his gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
