Montgomery County Beekeepers

The Montgomery County Beekeepers Association will meet on Thursday, Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. This meeting will be held at Independence Community College West, 2615 West Main in Independence. This meeting will be our annual potluck dinner, so please bring food to share and your own table service and your families. We will also have a silent auction and honey tasting event and officer elections. Please bring something for the silent auction if possible. Examples of items can be anything relating to beekeeping, but also items such as baked or canned goods, crafts, books, or anything you think someone would purchase. There will be several décor items relating to honeybees that some of you might like to purchase for home decorating. The auction will help benefit our scholarship program that enables a new beekeeper to begin an adventure with honeybees. Beekeepers are asked to bring their honey in a squeezable container, such as a honey bear, so each person’s honey can be dispensed into small containers for sampling. A door prize related to beekeeping will be given at the meeting. This will be our last meeting of the year as we do not meet in December. As always, our meetings are open to the public. We welcome all beekeepers and anyone interested in honeybees to our meetings. For more information, call 620-331-9394, 620-249-4864, 808-347-1557 or 918-977-1502.
