otes Daughters of Isabella to meet Nov. 11
St. Paul — Linda DeGarmo, Regent, opened the October 14th meeting of the Daughters of Isabella, St. Luke’s Circle. Guest Cathy Swartz was introduced. Cindy VanLeuween gave the spiritual reflection on the meaning of the last lines of the Our Father, The Lord’s Prayer.
Regent Linda then gave a short spiritual reading on Everyday Blessings.
A crucifix, formerly belonging to the Parsons D of I, before joining the St. Paul Circle, was shown to the members. The purpose of the traveling crucifix is to use it and the special prayer for the D of I in daily prayer, with it being passed to a different member each month. It was suggested the rotation be scheduled alphabetically among the members.
Eleven officers were present. Mary Jane Gouvion reported on the America Needs Fatima, Public Square Rosary Crusade held Oct. 11, in the St. Francis Church parking lot, St. Paul. Many youth, as well as adults, helped make the annual event a success with the largest crowd to date numbering 60. There were 23,000 rosary leaders across the United States holding the same event in their local community.
The November 11th meeting will be the traditional pot luck dinner at 6 p.m. followed by a memorial service for deceased members. Following the meeting, a rosary was said for World Peace. Hostesses were Marilyn Bradshaw, Lois Corn and Mary Alice Diskin. Jolene Born was named “Daughter of the Month” and door prizes were won by Marlene Clark, Francie Bohrer and Joan Davied. The remainder of the evening was spent playing bingo.
