Below are the events this week at the Parsons Public Library. TUESDAY, Oct. 28: 4 p.m., Anime Club for ages 10-18; Children’s Paint N’ Sip for ages 5-10.

WEDNESDAY, Oct. 29: 4 p.m., Let’s Play! for ages birth-5.

THURSDAY, Oct. 30: 1 p.m., let’s color for adults and teens; 4 p.m., Switch free play for teens.

FRIDAY, Oct. 31: Happy Halloween from PPL! Stop by the library for candy! 2 p.m., afternoon family movie; 4 p.m., Let’s Cook for teens.

Help Community National can hunger in the community

Community National Bank and Trust in Parsons is hosting a food drive now through Nov. 15.All proceeds will go towards the Labette County Emergency Assistance Center and our branch will donate 25 cents per item donated. Any donation of canned goods, hygiene products, laundry detergent, breads, or other shelf stable food, will be accepted. Drop off location is at Community National Bank and Trust in Parsons; 330 N. 16th St. Parsons, KS.

Southeast Kansas Lodge of Perfection to meet

All members of the Valley of Southeast Kansas Lodge of Perfection and their guests are asked to attend the Stated Dinner and Meeting on Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Armstrong Masonic Lodge, 3105 N. Joplin St., Pittsburg, Kansas.

This dinner will honor the 25 and 50 Year Members and the Longest and Oldest Members for their years of commitment and dedication to the Scottish Rite. Please plan to attend and show appreciation for these members’ service to this great fraternity. Social time begins at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be at 6:00 p.m.
