Parsons falls in three sets
Heading north for their KSHSAA 4A East substate semifinal, the Parsons Vikings fell in three sets to Wamego, 2-1 (13-25, 27-25, 25-10) on Saturday.
Paola, which beat Atchison in the semifinal at Paola, went on to beat Wamego in the sub-state championship to earn a state tournament bid.
Parsons finishes the season with a 25-12 overall record.
Grizzlies lose to Hayden Facing the Topeka private school power, the Labette County Grizzlies fell to Hayden, 2-0 (25-7, 25-10) in the KSHSAA 4A East substate semifinals on Saturday.
Hayden beat Eudora in three sets in the sub-state championship to punch its state tournament ticket.
Labette County finishes the season with a 12-23 overall record.
Erie defeated by Colgan Facing St. Mary’s Colgan in the KSHSAA 2A Sub-State semifinals, the Erie Red Devils’ season ended with a 2-0 (25-13, 25-17) loss on Saturday.
Erie finishes the season with a 20-21 overall record.
