COFFEYVILLE — Chanute’s boys and Fort Scott’s girls claimed SEK League cross country titles on Thursday in Coffeyville.
Chanute’s 20 points in the boys race easily cleared the field. Pittsburg was second (64), followed by Labette County (79), Fort Scott (86), Coffeyville (118) and Independence (138).
Fort Scott won the girls’ team title with 29 points, followed by Labette County (47), Pittsburg (53) and Independence (94).
In the boys’ race, Labette County’s Jacob Haraughty placed seventh with a time of 18:40.
Parsons’ Colten Carson was ninth with a time of 18:55.
Chanute’s Tucker Applegate, Jaron Powers, Easton Colborn and Tyler Rowden finished first through fourth, respectively.
Other Labette County runners included Cooper Newby taking 15th (19:46), Colten Weil 18th (20:12), Andrew Sykes 19th (20:22), Audrick Driskill 24th (21:00), Brian Davis 27th (21:14), and Jaden Geiger 32nd (22:08).
In the girls’ race, Chanute’s Laney Hillmon won with a time of 22:16.
Labette County’s Aubrie Meyer placed sixth (23:45), Paischance Wagner seventh (23:51), Paige Johnston 12th (24:17), Teagan Shaw 15th (25:02), Emma Easley 17th (25:19), Mikaela Carson 22nd (26:53) and Tereza Ducka 26th (27:54).
