PARSONS ROTARY CLUB

PARSONS ROTARY CLUB
Abby Nelson, who studied interior design at Pittsburg State University, spoke to the Parsons Rotary Club recently about her company, microMansions. She worked in design in Wichita with projects ranging from custom cabinetry to high end residential to Charles Koch’s executive suite. She founded her company in 2018 after experiencing the difficulty of buying or building a new home and moved it to Columbus in 2020 to support rural communities with an option for affordable housing. Her company ships nationwide, and they design their homes in such a manner the builder can easily adapt the kit to local codes. The trusses come from a third party and cabinetry from Grandview Cabinetry. The components are packed in sequence so it’s easier for the builder to assemble. Designs run from 800 to 1,600 square feet though they are building a custom package for a 3,000 square foot home. Courtesy photo
