Cindy Meek, director of Edna Public Library, was recently awarded her APPLE credentials for library directors. APPLE stands for Applied Public Library Education and is a one-year training program to help newer library directors begin to understand the background and foundational information needed to make better decisions for their communities. APPLE training begins at a two-day seminar with library consultants and other APPLE students from across Kansas. Follow-up sessions are scheduled on topics such as library budgets, library laws, planning and library facilities. Courtesy photo
