COFFEYVILLE — A Coffeyville man died early Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash northwest of Coffeyville, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported.
The accident happened at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday on County Road 4300 at the intersection with County Road 2000, which is nearly a mile north of U.S. 166, the KHP report said.
According to the report, a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Cassandra L. Lukens, 41, of Coffeyville was northbound on Inglewood Avenue and a 2001 Buick LeSabre driven by Brian R. Griswold, 65, of Coffeyville was westbound on CR 2000. Lukens failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with Griswold’s car in the intersection, according to the KHP report.
Griswold was pronounced dead at the scene. Lukens was not injured. Both drivers wore seatbelts, the report stated.
