ST. PAUL — The Daughters of Isabella, St. Luke’s Circle, St. Paul, met at the parish hall on Tuesday, Sept. 9.

Regent Linda DeGarmo chaired the meeting. Cheryl Trepagnier gave the spiritual reading, “Lead Us Not Into Temptation.” This sentence is part of the Lord’s Prayer. We face temptation every day. We need to ask the Father to help us overcome the temptation challenges we face.

Regent DeGarmo gave a short religious reading on “I Got The Joy.” Eleven officers answered roll call. Jolene Born, treasurer, gave the trustee report. Members read a thank you note from the principal of Meadow View Grade School for the donation of school supplies last month.

The state regent announced in a letter that the Rev. Job Arackaparsndil, Hays, in the Salina Diocese, has been appointed chaplain for the Kansas D of I. Oct. 4 will be the state audit meeting followed by installation of officers for the coming year. The meeting will be in Abilene for the eastern region, which includes St. Luke’s Circle. The Kansas D of I state conference will be Oct. 17, 2027, in Great Bend.

Members heard that the special state project is “Respect For Life” and that October is the month of the rosary.

The nominating committee presented a proposed slate of officers for 2026, which was approved. Installation will be at a later date at which time the names of officers will be listed.

Members recited a rosary for the repose of the soul of Harold Kennedy, brother of member Louise Jarboe.

Marilyn Bradshaw was “Daughter of the Month.” Mary Jane Gouvion, Diana Woldum, Francie Bohrer and Kathie Grosdider won door prizes at the meeting hosted by Jolene Born, Linda DeGarmo and Mary Jean Zandler.
