
WICHITA — John H. “Jack” Call, 88, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025.
Jack was born on Oct. 29, 1936, in Pittsburg to Emory and Roselle (Fox) Call. He grew up on the family farm in Southeast Kansas and moved after high school to Wichita, where he learned the masonry trade.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty; sons, Mike (Patricia) Call, Doug (Tina) Call; a daughter, Laura (Dan) Zavala; a daughter-in-law, Bobi Call; grandchildren, Andrew Call, Adam Call, Jeremy Call, Jed Call, Blake Edwards, Georgia Zavala, Ryan Zavala and Amy Garnsey; great grandchildren, Ruger Call, Justice Call, Archer Call and Ella Garnsey; sisters, Joan (Kenneth) Westoff, Rosemary (Darrell) Alexander, Jean (John) Blaes; and brothers, Don Call and Tom Call.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Russell; and siblings, Jim Call, Kay Meyer and Bill Call.
The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18, at St. Jude Catholic Church. The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, at St. Jude. The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Catholic Church, Building Fund, 3030 N. Amidon, Wichita, KS, 67204.
