New name at combined congregations
Shared Faith Community will have an open house and tours of the facility to celebrate the new overall name of the ministry housed at 1500 S. 29th St., the location of the joined First Presbyterian Church and First Christian Church. The celebration will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at the church. Hot dogs, drinks, chips, cake and tours of the redesigned building will be part of the event.
The churches will retain their separate denominational affiliations, but the overall name will allow the churches to work on their joint missions and ministry under one name.
The public is welcome.
