Lee Ann Spencer

ALTAMONT — Lee Ann Spencer, 56, of Altamont passed away the evening of Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, at her home.

She was born on Sept. 19, 1968, to Jean Ann Smith-Seymour in Parsons. As a young girl, Lee Ann grew up and attended school in Mound Valley.

After graduating from Labette County High School in 1987, she earned an associate’s degree from Labette Community College.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Lee Ann truly cared about others. Her love for others drove her to make a positive impact on the lives of everyone she met. A lifelong learner, she enjoyed reading.

More than anything else, she loved spending time with her family; Thrift shopping, finding treasures for others and donating items to those in need were also favorite activities.

She is survived by her husband, Randy, of the home; her son, Cody Spencer and his wife, Paula; three grandchildren, Cherokee, Ayva and Colesyn Spencer; and her stepfather, R.J. Varney.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Ann Varney; and her grandfather who raised her, Benny Smith.

The Memorial Service will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 18, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.

The family suggests memorials to help defray final expenses. Please make checks payable to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS, 67357.
