LIBRARY WINDOWS

LIBRARY WINDOWS
Casey Doyle (above), owner of Doyle Glass Co. LLC in Parsons, secures a block of wood to hold a 200-pound window in place on the east side of Parsons Public Library, 17th and Belmont, on Tuesday. His grandson, Patrick Doyle, is holding onto the glass. The project of removing two sections of sloping and leaking windows from the original building will cost $417,000 and Greg Hinman is serving as general contractor on the project. The new window sections are 20 feet by 12 feet. The library is also adding quiet rooms on the east and a reading area on the south side because of additional space acquired when the sloped windows were removed. An open house will be scheduled when the project is complete. Ray Nolting/Sun photo
