News & N
INDEPENDENCE β The Montgomery County Beekeepers Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, at Independence Community College West, 2615 W. Main St.
As bee populations build in the spring and summer, varroa mites increase in numbers as well, threatening the survival of the colonies.
This meeting will cover ways to check for the mites and various treatments available to use to ensure bees will go into the winter without a heavy mite load that will possibly kill the colony.
There will be time for discussions. The meeting is open to the public.
