LCMHS names Stewart new medical director

Labette Center for Mental Health Services has announced that Dr. Mark Stewart has been named as the medical director, beginning on Aug. 1, 2025.

Stewart is currently a consulting psychiatrist for LCMHS, providing much-needed services to the communities of Labette County, and will continue in this role as well as being able to work towards helping to enhance the already great clinical services.

Stewart holds a doctor of osteopathic medicine from the University of Health Sciences (now Kansas City University) and is a board certified psychiatrist in clinical psychiatry.

He has approximately 20 years of experience and has provided care throughout eastern Kansas and western Missouri.

Stewart is passionate about rural health and has a personal commitment to delivering high quality care to underserved individuals in Kansas and Missouri.

LCMHS owes a debt of gratitude to Dr. Kenneth Williams, who has been the medical director for over a decade.

Williams has been providing support to LCMHS out on multiple occasions, in varying capacities, since 2004.

LCMHS is thankful for the guidance and leadership that Williams has provided for over two decades.

Labette Center for Mental Health Services provides a full range of mental health and substance abuse services to clients of all ages and works closely with local agencies to provide the best care possible. The professionals at LCMHS work tirelessly to create hope and opportunities for life change by providing education, support, consultation, and therapeutic behavioral health services.
