otes Parsons PD launches app

The Parsons Police Department is proud to announce the official launch of its new mobile app, now available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play.

This innovative tool is designed to provide citizens with a faster, easier, and more convenient way to stay connected with the Parsons Police Department. The app brings information right to your fingertips, including press releases, alerts, crime updates, department news and contact options, all from your smartphone.

“We’re excited to take this step forward in our mission to increase transparency and accessibility,” said Lieutenant Jason Ludwig. “The new Parsons PD app makes it easier than ever for residents to stay informed and engaged with their police department.”

The app is part of the department’s ongoing commitment to community-oriented policing, transparency and modernization of public safety services.

“I’m a strong proponent of Community-Oriented Policing and transparency,” said Parsons Police Chief Robert Spinks. “This app has been in development for quite some time, and we’re thrilled to see it finally completed. I’m proud that we’re embracing new technology in our small community. As technology continues to evolve and become more prevalent, it’s essential that we adapt alongside it so we can remain a valuable asset to the citizens we serve.”

Download the app by searching “Parsons Police Department” on the Apple App Store or Google Play.

You can also continue to stay connected at parsonspdks. gov, where all department news and resources remain accessible online.

Beekeepers Association meeting

The Montgomery County Beekeepers Association will meet on Thursday, Aug. 14, at 6:30 p.m. at Independence Community College West, 2615 West Main Street.

As bee populations build in the spring and summer, varroa mites increase in numbers as well, threatening the survival of the colonies.

This meeting will cover ways to check for the mites and various treatments available to use to ensure bees will go into the winter without a heavy mite load that will possibly kill the colony.

There are several products available and we will give information on those and how they are used, as well as other methods to minimize mites.

There will be time for discussions. The meeting is open to the public. A door prize relating to beekeeping will be given during the meeting.

For more information, call 620-332-4673, 620-332-4486, 620-331-9394 or 918-977-1502.
