Below are the events for next week at the Parsons Public Library.
MONDAY: 10 a.m., family morning movie; 11:30 a.m., free lunch for children age 18 and younger; 4 p.m., LEGO Club for ages 15 and under; 4 p.m., jewelry making craft for all ages (signup is required by calling 620-421-5920).
TUESDAY: 10 a.m., Sensory Hour for ages birth to 3; 11:30 a.m., free lunch for children age 18 and younger; 4 p.m., Anime Club for ages 10 to 18.
WEDNESDAY: 10 a.m., Story Hour for ages 2 to 6; 11:30 a.m., free lunch for children age 18 and younger; 4 p.m., wool coaster craft for ages 10 to 18; 4 p.m., Let’s Play, for ages birth to 5.
THURSDAY: 10 a.m., craft Thursday for ages 6-10 (sculpable sand, space is limited, so signup is required); 11:30 a.m., free lunch for children age 18 and younger; 1 p.m., coloring for adults and teens; 4 p.m., cozy read-in for ages 8 to 10; 4 p.m., Switch freeplay for teens.
FRIDAY, Aug. 1: 10 a.m.: Water Friday with the Parsons Fire Department (wear a swimsuit, bring a towel); 11:30 a.m.: Free lunch for children 18 and younger; 4 p.m., bleach shirt craft (bring a colored shirt or two; all ages may attend, but children should be accompanied by an adult); 4 p.m., end of Summer Reading pizza party for teens; 6 p.m., Summer Reading swim party at the Parsons Municipal Swimming Pool for all ages.
Parsons Livestock Auction
On Wednesday, the Parsons Livestock Auction sold 1,000 cattle.
Choice cows 168-182.50, canners-cutters 160-167, shelly cows 159 and down, bred cows up to $4,400, pairs up to $5,250; choice bulls 215-336, lower grades 214 and down.
Steers: Up to 400 pounds, 400-550; 400-500, 355-451; 500600, 321-393.50; 600-700, 330-399; 700-800, 316-355; 800 and over, 298-315.
Heifers: Up to 400 pounds, 380-470; 400-500, 350-442; 500600, 314-383; 600-700, 295-347.50; 700-800, 265-332.10; 800 and over, 200-255.
