PEO SCHOLARSHIPS

LEFT: Chapters JE and BS, P.E.O. Sisterhood, honored Saylah Rea (right) with two scholarships totaling $1,000 for her first year at Cottey College. Chapter JE members Janie Barcus and Barbara Ward presented Rea with a $500 scholarship and Bonnie Latzer from Chapter BS presented a second $500 scholarship. Rea is pictured with Ward. Cottey College, located in Nevada, Missouri, is owned and supported by the P.E.O. Sisterhood. The college’s mission to empower women through education closely aligns with P.E.O.’s longstanding dedication to fostering educational opportunities for women around the world. RIGHT: Chapter BS, P.E.O., gave a Star Scholarship to Avery Lewis (center). She’s pictured with Holly Martino and Linda Proehl. This $2,500 scholarship is awarded to exceptional women in their final year of high school. Avery is the daughter of Troy and Laura Lewis of Scott City and the granddaughter of Richard and Linda Proehl of Parsons. She plans on majoring in biology with future hopes of becoming a nurse practitioner. She will be attending the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in the fall. Courtesy photos
