Below are the events for next week at the Parsons Public Library.
MONDAY: 10 a.m., family morning movie; 11:30 a.m., free lunch for children age 18 and younger; 2 to 4 p.m., Parsons Farmers Market senior voucher applications are available for those who qualify for this free program; 4 p.m., LEGO Club for ages 15 and under; 6 p.m., family bingo for all ages.
TUESDAY: 10 a.m., Sensory Hour for ages birth to 3; 11:30 a.m., free lunch for children age 18 and younger; 2 to 4 p.m., Parsons Farmers Market senior voucher applications are available for those who qualify for this free program; 4 p.m., Anime Club for ages 10 to 18; 4 p.m., sea shell candle craft for all ages (space is limited, sign up is required, call 620-421-5920).
WEDNESDAY: All day: Bring your stuffed animals for a Stuffed Animal Sleepover at the Library; 10 a.m., Story Hour for ages 2 to 6; 11:30 a.m., free lunch for children age 18 and younger; 2 to 4 p.m., Parsons Farmers Market senior voucher applications are available for those who qualify for this free program; 4 p.m., tissue paper art for ages 10-18; 6:30 p.m., “The Princess and the Frog” trivia at Cherry on Top.
THURSDAY: All day: Pick up your stuffed animals that spent the night at PPL; 10 a.m., craft Thursday for ages 6-10 (color changing slime; space is limited so signup is required); 11:30 a.m., free lunch for children age 18 and younger; 1 p.m., coloring for adults and teens; 2 to 4 p.m., Parsons Farmers Market senior voucher applications are available for those who qualify for this free program; 4 p.m., cozy read-in for ages 8 to 10; 4 p.m., Switch freeplay for teens.
FRIDAY, July 18: 10 a.m.: Water Friday, balloon fights and color fights (wear a white or light colored shirt and bring a towel; 11:30 a.m.: Free lunch for children 18 and younger; 2 to 4 p.m., Parsons Farmers Market senior voucher applications are available for those who qualify for this free program; 4 p.m., Let’s Cook for ages 10-18; 4 p.m.: CD painting for all ages (sign up is required).
SATURDAY, July 19: 11 a.m., guided meditation for teens and adults.
Lake board to meet
The Lake Parsons advisory board will meet at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, at the Parsons Arboretum. This is a public meeting.
Car seat help, bike giveaway
OSWEGO — The Oswego Police Department is hosting a car seat safety event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at the Oswego Community Center, 203 North St., Oswego.
Personnel will be on hand to inspect or install car seats and offer free car seats for qualifying families (bring proof of state assistance). Those attending and who get car seats checked can enter into a free bike drawing with 10 or more bikes to be given away.
Boots, Badges and Bandages blood drive will be Tuesday at Municipal Building
Local first responders are teaming up with Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) for the second annual Parsons Boots, Badges and Bandages Community Challenge Blood Drive, taking place on Tuesday, July 15.
The blood drive will be from noon to 6 p.m. at the Parsons Municipal Building, 112 S. 17th.
Donors will receive a day passport ticket to SuperSplash USA; a chance to enter to win a $10,000 dream vacation giveaway; a limited-edition Boots, Badges and Bandages T-Shirt; and a vote to support their favorite first responder agency in the race for the traveling trophy.

Parsons Livestock Auction
On Wednesday, the Parsons Livestock Auction sold 1,170 cattle.
Choice cows 162-175, canners-cutters 155-161, shelly cows 154 and down, bred cows up to $2,025, pairs up to $3,750; choice bulls 185-198, lower grades 184 and down.
Steers: Up to 400 pounds, 415-482; 400-500, 345-460; 500600, 325-410; 600-700, 312-368; 700-800, 290-345; 800 and over, 216-313.75.
Heifers: Up to 400 pounds, 365-445; 400-500, 325-401; 500600, 280-357; 600-700, 230-337; 700-800, 245-317; 800 and over, 230-286.
