otes VBS in Altamont

ALTAMONT — The Altamont United Methodist Church will host vacation Bible school (VBS) in its Fellowship Hall on from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays starting July 9 and ending July 30. This will be for all ages, and the theme is “God is Love.” The program will feature music, games, a light supper, Bible stories and crafts. College board to meet

The Labette Community College Board of Trustees will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Cardinal Event Center, 13th and Main. This is a public meeting.

Coin club appraisals set

The Parsons Coin Club will offer free appraisals to the public from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 11, at Labette Bank, 2121 Main. Club members will assist individuals in identifying and evaluating their old coins, currency and related items.

Senior vouchers to be available

The senior Farmers Market vouchers will be available starting July 14.

The Kansas Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (KSFMNP) is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service. The program provides annual benefits to low-income seniors to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables, herbs and honey from authorized farmers at farmers markets in Kansas.

Benefits are given out on a first-come, first-served basis. The person must be at least 60 years old and meet financial guidelines. Applications will be available at Parsons Public Library, 311 S. 17th.
