James E. ‘Jim’ Comer IV

James E. “Jim” Comer IV, 65, of Parsons passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025, at his home.

James Edward Comer was born on June 13, 1960, to James Edward and Dixie (Slane) Comer III in San Jose, California.

For almost 40 years, Jim enjoyed his job as a welder at Ruskin Manufacturing in Parsons.

He enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to rock ‘n’ roll music and playing computer games. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family.

Jim married Anna Troxel. They later divorced.

Survivors include a daughter, Jaime Comer of Parsons; five grandchildren, Christiana Silva, Benny Silva, Jorge Silva, Isabella Silva and Rachel Villano; a sister, Alicia Comer of Parsons; a brother, Robert Comer and his wife, Carmen, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Dixie Lee Marquart and an infant, Gidget Comer.

The memorial visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday, June 30, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.

The family suggests memorials to help defray final expenses. Checks can be made payable to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home and the memorials may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS, 67357.
