C lubs Don’t Dodge Difficulty

Four members of the Don’t Dodge Difficulty met at Westside Christian Church on May 20. The group tied eight quilts.

The group enjoyed lunch at Shredders. At 1 p.m., Norma Newell, president, called the meeting to order. Shirley Lunday led the flag salute. Annette Robinson read a poem, “Trust Him,” by Delphine La Dorex. Members answered roll call by answering “your most liked appliance.” Members reported 155 volunteer hours.

The group approved the minutes from the last meeting. The treasurer’s report was presented. Three members reported on “aging with attitude” that they attended.

Spring recognition day was a success on May 1. EPC met June 24 via Zoom to review lessons for 2026.

Shirley gave a lesson on autism. Members learned about autism spectrum disorders and how autism is screened and diagnosed. Members also heard about services available to families with autistic children.

Annette gave a lesson on trustworthiness. Examples were Abe Lincoln and George Washington. Honesty, being reliable, courage to do right, good reputations and loyalty for family, friends and country are part of trustworthiness.
