Shredders Smokehouse, 3330 Main, has closed effective Friday.
Tony and Connie Adams opened the business in 2002, serving smoked meats and other specialty items.
In a social media post, the Adamses said the decision to close was not made lightly, “but it comes with deep gratitude for the journey we’ve shared with the community, customers, and employees, current and past.
“From the very beginning, you welcomed us into your lives — celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and everyday meals with us. You’ve become more than just customers; you’ve become part of our family.”
The couple wrote that relationships and connections made during the business years will be missed the most. They enjoyed hearing updates from past employees when they returned to eat. And the Shredders family has grown over the past 23 years, they wrote.
“We have learned so much from this journey — kindness to all is essential. We are proud of the memories we’ve created together and are incredibly thankful for the support, kindness, and loyalty you’ve shown us over the years. It’s been an honor to be part of this community and to serve you.”
