Bob Rhodes, 80, of Parsons died Friday, June 6, 2025, at his home.
He was born on July 14, 1944, in Emporia, a son to Lewis and Frances (McIlvain) Rhodes.
Bob graduated from Burden High School and received an associate’s degree from Arkansas City Junior College. He also attended Emporia State Teachers College, working on a business degree.
He joined the Kansas National Guard in August 1965 and was honorably discharged.
Bob married Joyce Gann in Arkansas City on Nov. 12, 1966. He worked in the printing industry his entire life, first starting with Didde-Glaser in Emporia, then moving with the company to Ann Arbor, Michigan. He then moved to Bay City, Michigan, as the manager of F.P. Horak Printing. In 1978, Bob and his family moved to Parsons to become owners of Dick’s Printing, which became Rhodes Printing. Bob owned and operated Rhodes Printing for nearly 20 years before selling the business and retiring in Parsons.
Bob was active with the Parsons Rotary Club and Labette Assistance Center.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Rhodes, of Parsons; a daughter, Traci Rhodes of Gardner; a son, Matt Rhodes and his wife, Sheila, of Parkville, Missouri; two grandsons, Grant and Wyatt; and a brother, Ron Rhodes of Emporia.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents of Winfield; and a brother, Ken Rhodes, of Buhler.
No service is planned at this time. The Carson-Wall Funeral Home of Parsons is in charge of arrangements.
