Two representatives of the Parsons Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit, Cypress Jones and Parsons Lt. Detective Sherri McGuire, spoke to the Parsons Lions Club members about the problem of domestic violence in and around the area and what the unit does to respond and assist victims in escaping from domestic violence situations. Assistant Police Chief Dennis Dodd said while some people think a requested half-cent sales tax is for a building, it is not.
