Carol Ann Miller Rohr

ALTAMONT — Carol Ann Miller Rohr, 83, of rural Altamont, formerly of Neodesha, passed away at 4:20 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2025, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Carol Ann was born on March 16, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, to Edward and Mae Deeb. She was raised in Southern California. Carol Ann moved to Neodesha in the summer of 1977 with her family, trading the sunny, warm weather of California for the blue skies and wheat fields of Kansas.

It was here in Kansas that her then husband Robert “Bob” Rohr (now deceased) and their three sons, Terry, Bobby and Darrin, as well as her adopted daughter, Kim, made their home for the next 30 years of her life. Carol Ann quickly jumped into local life, opening a retail store at 502 Main St. in Neodesha, Ye Old Trading Post, selling furniture and various other items for the home. After several years of running the retail store, Carol Ann felt the need to take her selling skills into the insurance industry, traveling throughout Southeast Kansas selling various insurance products while working for Combined Insurance Co. of America.

When Carol Ann wasn’t working, she enjoyed relaxing at home with her family and her numerous dogs, who all affectionately loved her back with an abundance of wet kisses and cuddle time.

In 2005, Carol Ann’s marriage to David Miller (now deceased) is where she found true love. They were married for 18 years until David’s passing in September 2023. Carol Ann and David made a life between Neodesha, Yoncalla, Oregon, and ultimately Altamont until Carol Ann’s passing on Memorial Day 2025.

Carol Ann is survived by a son, Darrin Rohr and his wife, Margaret; four grandsons, John Dalton Rohr, Mitchell Rohr, Andrew Rohr and Michael Rohr; one great-grandson, Thompson Rohr; a sister, Kathy Hubbard and her husband, Gary; and two nephews, Pat and Chris Hubbard.

Carol Ann was preceded in death by her sons, Terry Rohr and Bobby Rohr; and a daughter, Kim Rohr.

A private family burial will be held in Yoncalla, Oregon, later in the year, whereby Carol Ann will be placed next to her loving husband, David Miller, in their family cemetery.
