
Ronald R. “Ronnie” Waun, 68, of Parsons passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
He was born on Nov. 28, 1956, in Sandusky, Michigan, to Jerry D. and Marjorie A. (Green) Waun. He grew up in Branson, Missouri, and graduated from Branson High School.
In earlier years, Ronnie worked in construction and dug many graves by hand. In recent years, he mowed yards and was a care provider for individuals at SKIL. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards with his brothers, fishing, bird watching, watching “Gunsmoke” and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.
He married Lori Jenkins; they later divorced. He married Louise (Ferguson) Irwin on Nov. 5, 1994 in Parsons. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his son, Brock Meadows (Rhea Harvey) of Branson, Missouri; his daughter, Sarah Stringer (Rusty) of Parsons; six grandchildren, Bryanna Winters (Chance), Baylee DeWitt, Alex Meadows, Payton Stringer, Paige Stringer and Brody Meadows; two great-granddaughters, Gwyneth and Georgia Winters; a son, Ben Ryan (Beth); 10 brothers and sisters, Cherie Schofield, Gene (Susie), Mike (Sherry), Ray, John (Carrie), Cindy Rossman, Tommy (Kim), Danny, Kenny (Annabeth) and Billy (Lisa); a former son-in-law, Mike DeWitt; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Casey Joe Waun; his parents; a sister-in-law, Jeanene Waun; and brother-in-law, Glen Schofield.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 6, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons. The family suggests memorials to Wounded Warrior or St. Jude’s Children Hospital, and these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, KS, 67357.
