Before graduating from Labette County High School, Zaylain Baldwin and Bradley Black signed to be a part of the We Lead John Deere Tech School sponsored by Prairieland Partners and AgriVision.

Last fall, Zaylain and Bradley participated in a competitive selection event for the new We Lead John Deere Tech School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They were among approximately 120 prospective college students who put their technical skills to the test in areas such as electrical systems, hydraulics, troubleshooting, and precision measuring. In addition to the hands-on evaluations, students also completed a formal interview.

Both Zaylain and Bradley performed exceptionally well, scoring in the top 10 overall. As a result, they were selected as part of the inaugural class of 16 students. The students were chosen from across Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas; 10 from Iowa and six from Kansas.

As participants in the We Lead John Deere Tech School, the students will receive full tuition, living expenses, tools, benefits and compensation throughout their time in the program.
