The case was later referred to the Parsons Police Department Domestic Violence Unit (DVU).
Chief Robert Spinks commended the officers’ swift response and emphasized the department’s continued commitment to protecting victims of domestic violence stating, “Our officers acted quickly and with compassion in a highly volatile and emotionally charged situation. This case does not do justice to the serious nature of domestic violence and the lasting trauma it can inflict, especially on children. We are committed to supporting victims and holding offenders accountable.”
Police suggested the following charges to the Labette County Attorney’s Office: Aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, criminal threat, aggravated endangering a child, domestic battery and aggravated intimidation of a witness.
